Starting yesterday, I began working with tires during my free time at work. The 2 main exercises I've been doing are the tire flips (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3o-dh3DwfU) and whooping them with a sledgehammer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEOA884bcu4) overhead, and as well as a golf-styled swing.
Is anyone else up on any other type of training methods to do with tires?

what's the purpose of sledging a tire
The tire flips I normally did as a part of summer training for football both HS and college.

It works the majority of your body, quite similar to chopping wood. It's also good for adding strength to your hands/wrists/arms, but that's a given. After two days I feel a lot of (good) soreness in my abs/obliques as well.
I plan to try and keep it routine for a while around 3 times weekly and see how it benefits in the long run.
I hear nothing but good things about the sledgehammer workout but I don't have a place where I can try it. If you can, def. go for it.

 hahahahaha, naah. I've been trying to step my upper body strength up overall. Along with the tire whooping, I've been focusing a lot on dumbbells as well.
