first off, the line between hip hop and pop has been blurred for about 10 years now. and a lot of people can relate to kanye's music. he's a change of pace from all the other shiit commin out which is pretty much people rappin about all sorts of different metaphors for cookin up crack and sellin it. although i fukk with that kinda rap too, i never sold crack so i cant relate. but on a personal level a lot more of kanye's shiit rings true to me. look at songs like "we dont care", "spaceship" or "family business"

Sadly he is still better than 90% of the other rappers out there with deals. Lets you know how far rap music has fallen. He is an average MC but sh1ts on half the game... Rap is in a sad state.
