Yes, any artist that gets alot of mainstream success or gets talked about alot on this board is gonna get their fair share of hate, but Wayne doesn't get near the amount Nas or Jay do. And he has not been murdering everything he's been on the last two months. I could care less about magazines. It's funny how this whole best rapper alive thing was started by Wayne saying he was the best rapper alive since the best rapper retired and not knowing what to say after that rapper un-retired.

Dude is incredibly inconsistent. At this point it's become his strength really. He can't stay consistent throughout a single song (i.e staying on topic). That's why he's at his best just straight spitting for 4 minutes as opposed to sticking to a theme. Look at his most popular song to date; if I asked you what A Milli is about what would you tell me? It's not about anything, it's Wayne spitting aver a hot beat. When he tries to stick to a theme he's not great at it (Dr. Carter).

Despite all that, I like dude's music for the most part and will listen to everything he drops, but that doesn't stop me from being honest.

I like wayne and think the carter 1 and 2 are great albums and by far his best work. But I think he is the most overrated rapper in my 20 years of listening to hiphop. I find myself flabbergasted just as much by the wack shyt he says as much as the dope shyt he says, which is a sure sign of inconsistency. I just get the feeling like he doesnt put any time into writing(in his head) like most of the great emcees do. I think when he really tries he can make great music but he seems to spread himself too thin to make those standout songs anymore.

If this love fest for wayne was right after the carter 2 dropped I would have no problem with it at all.

I just get the feeling like he doesnt put any time into writing(in his head) like most of the great emcees do. He doesnt write anything he jus freestyles thats part of what makes him so greatI think when he really tries he can make great music but he seems to spread himself too thin to make those standout songs anymore.He has probably put out over 10,000 songs all of em cant be standout.

the love for lil wayne outside of here is disgusting. lil wayne is garbage. i dont care if you are his mother, you cant seriously like him. his lyrics all sound like he thought of them 25 seconds before he recorded them.

Saying that these negatives are his strengths is a very poor argument. He has placed himself in the same category as all the other "rappers" that have came out in the past 2 years that lack real lyrical content and originality.
