AOL Mail? New Username

I'm registering my new username "Seamus", used my ISP Address (AOL) but i haven't received any confirmation yet

my old name "Wolfe" is currently unavailable, i tried resetting my password but the mail isn't arriving in my AOL Inbox

is it OK that since i register "Seamus" with my AOL email that i can get the confirmation sent to a GMail account?
