I'm trying to eat healthier. Not necessarily diet, just eat more nutritious foods I guess?
The whole "going to the gym 5 days out of the week and still eating junk" routine isn't really what's up.
Any suggestions?

don't eat fried food, don't drink sugar drinks, watch your portions with what you eat, 6 small meals is better than 3 large meals.

so.. that means no coke? smh. How would I survive? No juice?
And I barely have time to eat one large meal.. let alone 6 small ones.
I guess I'd have to structure my day more. :thumbsdow
But who wants to schedule their day around food?

Fat people do it all the time; it ain't that hard.
All jokes aside; I eat fairly healthy. I don't eat alot of fried food and junk. I also might eat fast food once a week. My only vice is beer.

That's not necessarily all that healthy.
Fish in particular is extremely good for you. Omega-3 fats seem to be extremely beneficial to heart muscle in particular and reduce the risk of heart disease.
Personally, I don't eat pork and rarely eat beef, and try to watch how much salt I eat, but other than that I eat what I want. Regardless of what you eat you're still gonna die sooner or later, might as well eat what you want at least sometimes. That said I do make it a point to eat fish at least 3 times a week.

I eat a mostly vegan-vegetarian/raw food based diet. Almost all the "bad" stuff that I used to eat like meat, dairy refined grains and refined starches I've gotten alternatives for. I don't consume any junk products like corner store snacks or nothing I only eat just straight Food not junk. Also I drink herbal infusions(teas) and take herbal capsules with herbs and plants rich in real organic plant based vitamins and minerals and essential nutrients. I eat alternatives to most junk foods that are much healthier and taste good. A lot of people wrongfully have a notion that vegan food is disgusting because when buying food at a mostly meat eating customer base the vegetarian option always suck. Also about the dieing part Its not really based on how long I live or not its more so on feeding the mind because the physical body will wither away sooner or later but the mind always there so a healthy body houses a healthy mind. You could lose your mind and live but lose your liver or heart and your pretty much gone so having a combo of healthy body and lifestyle creates a healthy calm mind.

No red meat or pork for this entire month.
Just fish and chicken.
Beer is my passion, though.

depends if im on a "diet" or not. when i'm on a real diet i only eat lean protein. eggs and turkey bacon for breakfast, tuna fish w/ a lil non fat mayo for lunch, a couple of chicken breasts or some baked fish for dinner w/ some broccoli. mix in some protein shakes every now and then.
you can just cut a few basic things out of what you eat daily and you'll be surprised. only drink water. the occasional no calorie tea or diet soda is fine, but try to stick to water. cut out fast food and fried foods. bake your chicken. watch your portions. lots of smaller meals are better because it keeps your metabolism up.
i just stick to those rules and i never put back on the weight i lose from my diets.

I've been doing this, without straying, since the beginning of August.
Of course I've modified (but stayed within the bounds) from the suggested menu. Let me know if you want to know more specifics.

LOL I do.
Try diet coke instead of normal coke..
my diets pretty bad at the moment, lots of fried foods, oily lebanese food and mcfeasts at 1am..
but starting next week (end of Ramadan) i'll be back to usual, lots of lean meats, fresh seafood, vegetables, sushimi, no fried food at all except one meal a week, protein shakes and gluten free everything, and carbs max 3 times a week..
I live in a pretty image conscious city though so it is easy eating healthy..

Ugh I HATE diet coke. It tastes so sweet.
I don't eat a lot of fried foods, seeing as
1. I'm scared I'm going to pop myself with grease when I cook and
2. Really greasy foods nauseate me
I'm bad about bread though. I LOVE all bread and it's terrible for a healthy diet. I've tried wheat and love it.. so I guess my whole deal is more about expanding my food palate. I'm a picky eater and I'm hesitant when it comes to trying new foods.

how do u know good carbs from bad carbs? and is 8/lbs a month to lose unreasonable?
Diggy_Dat_Niggy

I started today
50 gram shake with packet of weight control oatmeal
4oz lean beef and cup brown rice (3 x thru day)
10 gram creatine cocktail preworkout
50 gram whey post workout
how do u know good carbs from bad carbs? and is 8/lbs a month to lose unreasonable?
Yeah, although other people might try to tell you that you can lose 20lbs a month or something.
Keep in mind that even if you stopped eating you'd only lose 1-2 lbs a week.
I think, if you're exercising, and you want to lose fat (as opposed to muscle or water weight), 5lbs a month is probably reasonable.

I eat HEALTHY food and I eat EMPTY calorie foods.
Basically, I eat everything that I like eating (good and useless).
like alcohol?
i got some questions. i just started working out again and i'm trying to get on a high protein diet. is it ok to be on a diet mainly of tuna, rice, & eggs?....and if so, how much protein should i eat in one sitting. those big cans of tuna are like 65 grams of protein, but i heard that may be too much protein to eat in one sitting. to me, tuna is best source of protein...mainly cause it takes no time to prepare and it's not filling at all. i could eat 2-3 big cans of tuna a day easily.
i always wondered if it would be healthy to strictly eat tuna all day. cause i'm tryin to eat atleast 180 grams of protein each day. so 3 cans of tuna would be more than enough for me. but i rarely see anybody with a tuna only diet. it's always like eggs, rice, oatmeal, chicken, tuna. i wanna for sure so i can really start gettin serious. should i diversify my diet or can i just do a tuna, rice, & eggs diet?...that would be the easiest to me.
come on man. i thought yall were supposed to be experts in this bytch

If you're actually working out, the general equation is 1 gram of protein per pound of lean body mass, but you dont have to be exact. Just be in the general area. Now if you're muscles need no repairing, but instead maintenance then you'll do fine with less.
Also tuna has mercury in it. Too much of it will upset your stomach. It's better to widen your variety of lean proteins. It's not hard. Hell I must have atleast two chicken meals a day.
Don't rule out carbson lifting days, it's your source of energy. When you have a ****ty session lack of carbs beforehand is most likely the reason why.
There's no easy way to getting your ideal body.

i pretty much eat unlimited vegetables (well except potatoes)
i don't think pasta is necessarily bad for you, you just need to limit it. after working out sometimes i might have a bowl of tomato based pasta. you still need carbs for energy, it's just that most people over do it on the servings.

are turkey breakfast meats what hot right now?
Breakfast - M-F - 2 eggos (the natural wheat ones) 1teaspoon sugar free syrup on the center of each OR a whole wheat and cheese thing my wife makes
lunch and midday (2 meals) - Healthy Choice meal
Dinner - whatever my wife makes (healthy)
Before this I used to eat fast-food lunches and breakfasts. Need to stick to only drinking water though.
Weekends I eat whatever I can find, but try to keep my sweet things to fruits.
