That was the first one I'd heard from them.. I'd actually rank that one above their debut.. The third one is straight too.. I can't say I've given the new one a fair listen all the way through but it seemed to be in the same style as the one before it.. Anyone ever seen these guys live?.. Fukkin' amazing...

 That album was insane. As good as that album is, I have no desire to check for anything else by them. I tried Francis and couldn't get into it. I haven't even listened to any of the newer stuff

nah not to me, that first album they did was awefull to me minus one or two songs. They screamed too much and the music was all off beat and mucked up. 'relationships in command' is one of my favorite albums of this decade though. shyt goes really hard...

one armed scissor was the only good highlight to that band's actual stuff. the vid, and the song..the rest of the experience was some awful amateur wanna be what is called rock/rap genre crap.

seriously,.....mars voltra is alot better in all the weirdness and unfocused mess, from the completely focused wack rapping, at the drive in was.

now,..i need the album..after deloused. could someone hook a rock starved brother out?

art barr

the ep,is how i thought they would be good. the first full album as mv, is one of the better rock albums of our generation.

i don't have any sparta...could someone fill me in on who that is.

also...does anyone like perfect circle. i can't get enough of maynard's vocal and rock contemporary stuff, as pc or tool. it is just i don't have good copies of pc's stuff anymore. i wore them out. could someone up there stuff for me, if they could.

props in advance. glad a lot of people like rock on sohh

Rapping? Art, what band were you listening to? ATDI was more punk I guess..where as Mars Volta is/was more uhh progessive/experimental. Listen to Pattern Against User by ATDI if you liked one armed scissor.

Sparta is the other half of ATDI. when they broke up, half of the members went one way and half went to the other. Sparta is more radio friendly but still good music and Wiretap Scars is a personal fave album of mine.

APC is cool, I need their music back too. I still prefer tools discography over APC's though...it always seemed like APC would have 3/4 stand out tracks and everything else just level around average.

nah,...atdi..is was a punk/rock/rap synergy....they suck'd.

i haven't tried sparta, on for size yet.

apc,..though. the first two albums are classic. the first one is perfect, except for one song.

i really need my apc back,..i mean i virtually wore those out. you can't even listen to tracks three through four, and it is so bad off two, six, and seven, is just static, and skippin...and i love them damn songs.

i need that if anything, up'd

At the Drive-In didn't suck and your classification of them is so off base that I'm astonished. Singing fast all of a sudden equal rap-rock? You're usually on point Art (maybe not always with the rock stuff--you have an older person's aesthetic which is fine) but this couldn't be any more incorrect.

Sparta is generic and boring. I wouldn't waste my time.

atdi,..just didn't do it for me. i was prepared to really get their record, and honestly..i'm glad that one time before i actually bought a record. i went to actually preview this record.

saved my money,..and that record was one of the first really cheap records in the day and age of expensive price broke relase day debut records, too.

so atdi, had my full attention to really like their stuff...

just didn't happen, and i was turned off, by their actual lyrics and vocal performances...too.

when i went to get that same type of feel from one armed scissor purposefully.

Ok--I don't have a problem not being into them. But they're surely not rap/rock garbage.

their newest album is better than any other than their debut...and I bought them all. Amp has some of their best but probably their worst songs as well (you lie if you say you can listen to the last song on Amp straight through); i like it but it was really uneven.

they took the pure noise tracks out of this album (minus the first half of askepios) and just put it down. The highs aren't as high, but it's consistently good.
