Jacked from a good producers blog

This is directed to nobody in particular, but a bunch of people in general...

Total slots on an album

- Established staple producers

- Artist's producers

- A&R's producers

- Label's producers
________________________

= How many slots that are open for you.

Divide by the number of beats whoever you are submitting to is getting.

- The number of your beats he/she chooses to play for artist.

- How many of your beats are better than other beats the artist has.

- The tracks the artist doesn't want for his/her final album.
_______________________________________________

= Major placements
Now we could sit and whine about how this is some bull****. Or we could step our games up to become part of someone else's equation, or be so exceptional, that you defeat the equation...

In the producer's market, most of the time the rich get richer. While some artists are known for putting on lesser known producers, the majority want a producer with a proven track record.

That's why certain producers are "super producers" and get 100x the placements of most others

pretty much. That's probably why everything sounds the same nowadays.

Thats why I was gonna quit PMP because its seemed impossible to get a placement on a major album using their track dumps. Nor had I heard of anyone getting a major placement on there who didnt already previously have major placements before joining PMP.

I'm about to do some more intense marketing and networking. I think I'm gonna give PMP one more month, then cancel it if nothing happens. Otherwise I'm just waistin 50 bucks a month.

all that shhit is a waste of money

your best bet is to stop focusin on the net and just use the net as extra shhit

go print up cd's and record hooks on all your beats

then go out to the local hiphop spots, clubs, etc. and give your cd's out for free and talk to people

takes money to make money

i just did all this shhit over the past 2 months and made 5 g's off sellin beats under my top secret moniker
