Budden is the better rapper but he doesn't have anywhere near the amount of dope songs Wayne has.

Budden has mad crack songs, but he has as many terrible songs. and a 2 to 1 ratio aint cuttin it.

true. now once these superior lyricists make the connect between writing hot mixtape verses, making hot songs, and reaching bigger audiences (which is their whole purpose of being in the business of music), hopefully they'll enjoy the same success. Until then, let that man (Wayne) enjoy his success without pulling out the hundreds of irrelevant rappers you think are more skilled. It's pointless, even if it makes you feel better temporarily.

1. maybe buddens doesnt want to have gigantic audiences?? maybe he doesnt want to sell 2 mill, maybe he just wants to lay back and keep dropping his mood muzik mixtapes for his loyal fans in NJ and NY and on the eastcoast

2. buddens isnt irrelevant

Obviously, Wayne is just dumbing down for people which Joey refuses to do

"They callin' them kings when they so, so hot, something wrong with that picture must be photo shop" -Joe Budden

"The greatest rapper alive is wearing suits and ties and you got a bunch of wack ni99as saying they him, they say if you strive for something you could achieve it, now just say **** ni99as will believe it" - Joe Budden

Joey did say The Carter 3 wasn't trash he said it was solid

"Sometimes you think you better off with that 9 to 5
Til you remember all the times you got fired
Sometimes you wanna dress down, walk out with no jewelry (But!)
But you can't, you under real heavy scrutiny
You ain't got a truck that's hooked up with rims
Kids'll see you like "damn, why I looked up to him?"
It makes some wanna quit, it makes some stand tall
If you don't sign that autograph, then it's one fan lost"

1. stop it. there's not a signed artist who doesn't want to maximize his audience. He may not be down with making huge compromises artistically to do so, but to say that he doesn't want to have lots of fans or sell lots of records doesn't even make sense.
2. no dis to buddens, but I meant as far as the mainstream goes. He's a dope rapper, but just not relevant right now as far as mainstream hip hop goes.

it does make sense....not every rapper wants to go platinum....if Buddens or any underground rapper wanted to go platinum they wouldnt write the **** they write...theyd write wack sh!t over recycled beats and talk about poppin bottles with b!tches and 45 inch rims and all that annoying over played BS

Actually, I'd think they write the sh!t they write with hopes that the general public catches on to some dope ish. Bone, Outkast, Nas, NWA, etc are examples of artists who kept their own style and STILL sold units. If Joey was content just reaching underground fans and making a little change he would've stayed local and signed to an independent (or even start his own company). People don't sign to majors to stay underground.

Bone Outkast Nas ans NWA were all from the 90's when Hip Hop was real...now its all smoke and mirrors...no1 cares about lyrics anymore...they just wanna pop bottles in the club nowadays...no1s checkin for lyrical skills n e more cept underground heads..

Underground now is what hip hop in general was in the 90's

How do you ramble about lyrics and then name NWA aka the most overrated rap crew in history? *****s didn't even write their own lyrics, and they were ass for the most part.

Too much credit is given to them for bringing gangsta **** to the forefront.

Buddens might be lyrically better, but im sure it is an unsigned artist better than buddens.

Thread is pointless.

not completely true. Lupe, Outkast, Nas, can push units in this climate. I agree you gotta come with more than just lyrics. Nikkas like Fat Joe, Jay, and LL have found ways to stay relevant throughout the trends and fads.
