View Full Version : Fugazi Appreciation Thread...

I picked up 13 Songs about a half-year-ago a friend of mine recommended it. I took my time digesting this album, and decided that this is one of the best bands I have ever heard. Today I picked up Repeater. This confirms my decision. IMO this band defies catagorization. Are they punk? Emo (in the late eighties sense of the word)? Hard rock? No...they are Fugazi.

EDIT: I thought that I should add that it takes some time for the music to grow on you. The voices of the two different singers are...unique, and the sound can be abrasive at times. But when it all comes together, it comes together in a big way.

easily my favorite band. do yourself a favour and just get all of their albums, not a single weak one. Steady Diet of Nothing is probably my least favorite, but its still great. personally I think Red Medicine is their best, but Repeater is close as well.

One of the best rock bands of the 80s/90s IMO. As well of the albums, check out the film "Instrument" - some great live footage.

Great movie, and the soundtrack was awesome too. I really wish I'm So Tired would have been made into a longer song, I love it. I'd like to see more just straight up live footage of them as well.

The amount of child support that these guys are paying is ridiculous. Fathered so many bands.

They do defy category but I've mostly seen them described as post-hardcore. But it's arbitrary really.

Great great great band.

I'd also strongly reccomend checking out the doc/film they did. I got it off Netflix this summer and was really dope.

Yeah, Instrument is great. My only problem with it is there isnt nearly enough straight up live footage in it.
