compared to the feel of the rest of the album - this is one cut that sounds like classic CP

i love how most of the songs start one way, and then transform into something COMPLETELY different by the end of the song...

It's a solid album. Some great songs, some meh songs.

At first I wasn't feelin this album, but over the days its grown on me a ridiculous amount! Every song is so good, I never just listen to one song from it, I just listen start to finish everytime. This could be in my Top 10 albums off all time if i dont tire of it somehow.

as a coldplay fan it's not better than a rush of blood


i just got a grouprip version and the sh1t's even better than before, you can hear mad instruments and subtleties than you heard in those trash versions floating around, the sh1t is so far coldplay's closest perfect album

The album isn't perfect, as I said, thanks to Violet Hill, which is boring compared to the rest of the album. Chris Martin's voice can be grating. Other than that, great album. I think there'll be a lot of comparisons made between Viva La Vida and Joshua Tree.

nah not really, as an album it's the closest to perfection they've come, with the cohesiveness, theme, the duality of the album, the flowing of songs, the production, instrumentation, taken as a whole it's their best overall piece yet

however i think rush of blood is better in that it has their best songs, they were at their peak creatively, i think as a band this is where they came together best, and for coldplay, what they are is best expressed here whereas VLV is far more experimental

i agree with the joshua tree statement but i don't think they're as much like u2 as everyone else has been saying

i admit it does have emotional attachments such as everything that was happening in my life at that particular time but i do think politik, in my place, the scientist, clocks, daylight, a whisper, and a rush are among their best songs in their canon

that being said i give VLV a 10/10, i really enjoy it.

parachutes is a magic album, TROUBLE is one of my top 5 of all time songs
coldplay fell off
the song viva la vida though is amazing
