I don't really have any first hand experience with them but from what I have heard, they are just like any other VW vehicle. Some love them and don't have any complaints whatsoever...some are huge pieces of shiit that will never be problem free. You just have to get lucky and know the history I guess

VW Audi have always had tons of problems. I also don't like the look of that model in particular because the grill doesn't extend down into the front lower bumper like the newer ones. Just looks like an old school passat if you ask me. If you want it do some more research, but if I were you I would definitly get something else.

are electrical problems expensive to fix?
Usually yes.
They're labor intensive because of the tracing, etc.

i got the 03 joint....i heard mine was problematic...but i been lucky knock on wood. i got mine used so i got a new fuel pump under warranty last yr or so.
i got the 3.0 engine. i think most problems are with the 1.8t..... and turbos are more expensive to fix compared to a V6 in the 3.0.
besides...1.8's got turbo lag...so get a v6 if u can.

I was considering this car as well. but I hate how the interior looks so cheap. im referring to the radio controls and what not.
how are these cars on gas, and do they require premium?

I heard the same thing. my boy had a jetta in high school/ college and the electrical system went out on his sh*t too. of course he treated that car like crap and it was brand new when he got it. went through two jettas actually.
