I"m replacing the Celica. I want something almost equally small, and inexpensive. I'll most likely get a used car.

What would be your $$$ limit as far as inexpensive? I know dealers were knocking $8,000 off of brand new RX8's last year during the fall. Size wize to the Celica: Scion TC, Civic SI, Nissan Sentra, Mits Eclipse etc.

Ix-nay on those options. I guess something in the 10-15K range. Nothing too special. Nothing American either.

do NY'ers really need a car? I mean I'm in chicago, and with the rise in fuel cost, I'm driving less than ever, and I'm really realizing that a car is not a necessity. esp given that my wife has one anyways.

RX-8 is a funny car. It's not for the average person. Gets some pretty bad gas mileage and have you to go through procedures concerning starting and restarting the car.
