Very few are happy in doing what they do
Instead of being themselves they'd be you
Act like they're living the life when it's a lie
Because nobody is, we're all just gettin' by

I'm learnin' discipline while wearing the welts
Knowing nothing in abundance but negativity
Skipped Church cause da Pastor's a big P.I.M.P.
it is kind of hard to believe in God when the Preacher's rotten
Slavery ain't over just now music, movies & drug's da cotton
Resent the success of others no matter da degree
feeling deeply wronged for it should have been me
complying to the whims of others merely for aceptance
and dwelling on my mistakes hoping for that one chance
playing my numbers faithfully while knowing the true fact is
Although we call it the lottery it's really the poorman taxes
praying that my numbers one day will fall but they do not
spending my money on a dream cause that's all that I've got
