I decided to give myself a jumpstart on my path of eating healthier and getting rid of the possible toxins in my body by doing a full body cleanse...
I'm nervous as hell! the last time I did it I was working at night so I was home during the day and could take care of my business. Now I work during the day and lawd knows what's gonna happen :(
I gave my boss a heads up that I was doing this and she said "good for you" let me know if you need to leave early etc. (she's so cool) :)
It's for 7-9 days so I won't be done until next week! Once I get pass the 4th day I should be good....
Anyone else every did a body cleanse before? what was your experience?

what type of clease are you doing? are you fasting with yours?
i've done natural cleasnses = herbs, chlorophyll, and aloe vera juice...i dont think i'll ever pay 50-100 for a bottled cleanse and i've never done the lemon juice thing either...let me know how yours goes
i'm thinking of doing 3 sessions of colon hydrotherapy

I did a fruit/veggie detox with only a certain amount of brown rice, milk and yogurt....if you're worried about getting rhe green apple quickstep...don't be. My detox was fine and was business as usual for me...and I lost 9-10 lbs in the process

Yay! I'm glad it worked out for you. My only worry is needing to go to the bathroom and being stuck in a meeting or meeting with clients...
I didn't have this problem last year cause my clients weren't awake for a large part of my work-day.....

the site = shyt, but its at walmart for about 40 bucks
someone on the Muscular Development forum recommended it so I copped it, but I was already using the metamucil with great results. So I gave the kit to the woman. My metamucil is about done so ill cop some of this and probably some sugar free metamucil or some bulk psyllium husks for later use
Oh and its also simple to do and follow unlike other kits my girl said she used before.

Thanks Darlin!
My digestive system is all messed up! I'm not doing #2 as much and not eating as healthy as I should. So my Doc. recommended a cleanse to clean out the backup waste in my body and then increasing my fiber intake. The Watkins cleanse also helps to detoxify the liver as well...

Day 1 is almost complete! I feel pretty good and will continue to drink my water and stop to pick up more fruit and veggies 2night. I did however have gas and felt a litte nauseous when I first arrived to work. After I ate a banana I felt much better...

yeah those hydrotherapy treatments can be harsh..you will lose most of your intestinal flora(good bacteria). so you need to supplement it with lots of fresh and slowly cooked vegetables and mineral rich foods full of living enzymes..aswell as probiotics supplements..
you should see the gerson therapy. its a natural process of cell therapy by eating/juicing/souping/salading 17 pounds of produce daily, along with 3-5 coffee enemas daily ..its wild sh!t, they've cure thousands of terminal cancer patients at their facilities..SMH @ the FDA

lol,
When I got home I had some veggie soup and water. I had a total of 3 number #2's yesturday - 2 of them were pretty loose while the other one not so much. I urinated several times as well....
Today I feel pretty good haven't done a number 2 yet but when I woke up I felt like I had 2 but didn't. I had a salad for lunch and water. My stomach is bubbling right now as it was yesturday but nothing major....
Oh and I have gas something terrible! :gag:
*sprays lysol*
I'll prob do grilled veggies 2night with water...

Day 3 was pretty good - I am starting to feel a lot better and the gas is not as bad. I had a little brown rice, veggies and (2) veggie dumplings from P.F Changs which was pretty good. When I got home I of course had to use the bathroom but it was a smooth process unlike day 2....
Day 4 is starting off on a good note! I'm going to have a banana for breakfast followed by left over P.F Changs. For dinner I'll prob. have some fish with a small salad.
One downfall is that I've been very nauseous and once having to sit by the toliet. I have no idea why but that feeling is the worst!!

you might need to snack on some veggies like baby carrots, celery, or some grapefruit/apples..
i was getting light headed this morning after my psyllium & bentonite shake..so i just decided to take some almond milk and snack on an apple..
when youre doing a detox, your body is burning/using the old tissues so you may feel a bit sick at times. energy crashes, headache, skin breakout..the only thing you can do is replenish :smoker:

No I'm not working out with the cleanse but I will once it's over. And I do find that I don't have a lot of energy but I feel healthier. I'm going to try to stick to this lifestyle as much as I can. I don't want to be backed up ever, ever, ever again! lol

So today is my last day and damn this weekend was a killer!! It seemed like I was going to the bathroom every 3-4 hours :(
I didn't get the nauseous feeling which was good but the bubbleguts and gas were out of control. I felt so sorry for my bf lol cause I would try to hold it til I got to the bathroom but I sometimes didn't make it. The smell started to not be as noticeable on Sat which was good.
Anyhoo, I've lost 2lbs and feel great! I've decided to not eat tv dinners for lunch anymore but instead make peanut butter, turkey and tuna sandwiches, baked chips and fruit for lunch. I also brought some activa to eat for breakfast instead of cereal - milk has not been my friend lately.
I brought some allfruit bars from whole foods to eat as snacks during the summer instead of ice-cream. I start my workout routine tomorrow and I'm excited!!
Overall it was a good process and I would def. do it again.
Any other questions please let me know! :)

Theres no cleanse better than a full body detox which consists of cleaning the 5 or 6*(female) eliminative channels in the body which is the skin, colon, kidneys, lungs and liver and vagina for females. The toxins you have in your body aren't going to be removed simply by just eating fruits and vegggies thats a good start but a bodily cleanse using herbs is much much better. Plus Logic86 you seem to view the FDA as a good wholesome health watcher where these people are the same that said smoking was good back in the 1970's. I suggest sexydeltagirl go to http://www.dherbs.com/store/full-body-detox-kit-p-1.html. Don't take this post as advertisement this is a true cleanse using rare and exotic herbs from all around and ISN'T FDA approved as they are a bunch of money scheming drones who don't care about your health. Read about Milk, Salt, Refined grains and starches and the hundreds of chemicals approved by them which are proven insalubrious to the human body. FDA is the same agency that approves these legal drugs and people are fooled into thinking they are good. For example people get headaches and use Aspirin and although that takes the headache out, it thins the blood and cuts oxygen flow to the brain while damaging the intestinal tracts giving ulcers. It also leaves toxic residue that ends up damaging the mucous membranes the body. The real headache would be in the colon from something bad that was eaten and the colon should get cleansed but people don't want to hear that.

its tasteless, odorless and the texture is very smooth. really easy to drink. the only catch is that you need to atleast 5 glasses of water , to avoid dehydration or constipation.
ive been supplementing with probiotics pills, pau darco, detox pills and green superfood..ive been on it for 2 weeks and i feel great. normal bowel movements that are actually formed. in past detox's ive had extreme watery bowels that were messy :gag:...this time around i feel comfortable and have frequent normal bowels. i have no energy crashes, i can workout hard, and have little to no gas. another benefit of the psyllium..i use to have farts that could power a small bus :gag:

That bentonite clay is good I bought it at this local health food store but you can get it at whole foods I believe. I don't use it for bowel movements since that full body detox consists of a colon formula that has senna leaves and these other herbs made to get a sluggish colon moving. Since using it I go use the bathroom 1-3 times a day and my sh1ts don't stink anymore because the formula has activated charcoal which removes heavy metal toxins, odorous gases and acids and all that. Going to the bathroom has never been easier.

The one I got is from a brand that says "Now" and its like in a orange bottle. Its a dry powder, I use it for my face though to remove toxins and I used it once so far. Its good for claying your face periodically. The detox Im on already has a blood cleanser since it says if your blood is toxic then your skin is the external manifestation of that.

Detoxing can be bad for your health
The detox season is in full swing with Tesco's sales of brown rice up by 67 per cent in January. But some experts think that detox diets don't work and can even be dangerous
By Peta Bee
FATS, CALORIES, carbohydrates are yesterday’s bad guys — the new enemies are toxins, with toxic “excess” blamed for a host of ills from weight gain and poor digestion to acne and excessive tiredness. Such is our obsession for the internal clean-out that the early months of the new year are now well established as the detox months.
Tesco has reported that the “Detox Season” has become “an essential fixture on the retail calendar”, and that “anything that has a well-known connection with detoxing has flown off the shelves”; its sales of brown rice in January were up by 67 per cent on the previous month, and those of the Nutri Centre @Tesco’s Detox Plan Drink up by more than 200 per cent. And detox plans regularly top the diet bestsellers lists at Waterstone’s — with around 200 detox titles in the UK.
It’s hard to believe that just five years ago detoxing was considered the preserve of celebrities and alternative types. Now we’re all at it.
The popular perception is that a detox will probably do some good, and it can’t do us any harm. Or can it? Some experts believe that detoxing is at best a waste of time, effort and money, and at worst it can be dangerous.
Last year Catherine Collins, chief dietitian at St George’s Hospital, London, saw a 23-year-old man who had been rushed to accident and emergency after slipping into a coma. Doctors reported that his serum sodium levels had plummeted to a dangerous level, causing his brain to swell. Constricted by the skull, the brain has little leeway for expansion and once it has enlarged by 6 per cent it hits bone and starts to compress against the hard surface. This can be serious; the patient remained in a coma for four days. It was not alcohol or drugs, nor a mystery illness or reaction to medication that was to blame, but almost certainly a detox diet.
The patient had attended a family party where several close relations had commented on his pasty appearance and expanding waistline. As a result, he started a three-week detox diet, which consisted almost exclusively of fruit, vegetables, fruit juice and water.
While his was an extreme case, it is by no means isolated, says Collins. She sees dozens of people with detox side effects ranging from bowel problems to chronic dehydration and potassium depletion as a result of their attempts to detox. More seriously, dizziness, respiratory problems, sometimes even potentially fatal water toxicity, are symptoms of hyponatraemia, when sodium levels and other body salts, or electrolytes, in the blood are too dilute, often as a result of consuming more water and less salty foods sometimes in conjunction with increased activity.
“There is this fixation with the notion that we can detoxify the body through what we eat and drink, but the whole idea has no scientific basis and anything that promises to help you to detox is a rip-off,” Collins says. “Sticking to a detox regimen for a day or two won’t be harmful for most people, although neither will it have any effect on their long-term health. But when detox plans promote longer periods of severe dietary restriction, which many do, they can cause problems.”
The detox theory is that too much of the wrong sorts of food, a polluted environment, and unhealthy habits such as drinking and smoking contribute to a build-up of poisonous substances in the body, which eventually buckles under the strain. The signs of this strain include headaches, body aches, chronic fatigue, allergies, chronic digestive problems, muscle aches, autism, schizophrenia, even drug reactions and Gulf War syndrome fatigue. The substances commonly considered poisonous include caffeine, alcohol, drugs, cigarette smoke, exhaust fumes, high protein diets, organophosphate fertilisers, paint fumes, saturated fat, steroid hormones, and the list goes on.
According to the detox theory, by sticking only to foods that are considered pure and unadulterated, and by avoiding anything that might strain the internal organs, you will purge yourself of poisons and undo the damage wreaked on your health.
The avoidance of food, or fasting, is not new, and has been practised for religious reasons for centuries with the idea that, at certain times, it is beneficial to concentrate more on keeping faith and less on the concerns of everyday life such as eating and drinking. But detoxing usually differs from religious fasting in duration, or in the stipulations about what cannot be consumed. Prolonged spiritual fasts, such as the month-long Ramadan fast practised by Muslims, do allow food to be consumed at certain times; others, such as the Jewish Yom Kippur, restrict the practice to 24 hours. Most detox programmes advocate 48 hours to seven days of a strict dietary regimen. Some suggest sticking it out for longer; the latest hit with the Hollywood set is a 21-day programme devised by the nutritional therapists John Woods and Richard DeAndrea .
If detox plans vary in length, their content is pretty similar. Typically, they prescribe drinking two litres or more of water a day along with dandelion coffee and herb teas. Most also recommend half a pint of fruit or vegetable juice — carrot or apple are favourites because of their “digestive-boosting” properties — and some allow unlimited consumption of raw fruit and vegetables considered beneficial for detoxification purposes, such as fresh apricots, citrus fruits and mango or peppers, watercress and bean sprouts. Meat, fish, dairy, processed foods are definite detox no-nos.
So, does detoxing fulfil its promise? “No, it’s rubbish,” says Professor Tom Sanders, of the department of nutrition at Kings College London.
