Are there any style of beats that you wouldn't do or tired of doing?

I'm tired of crunk beats or crunk inspired beats. Tired of the same double time 808 snare and hi hats.

I try to make natural sounding beats that don't sound like its produced from a computer.

I'm getting tired of hearing the same dance pads and mood-ish leads on every damn song.

I really can't see myself making beats at tempos not in the 120-140 range anymore, and I definately can't make boom-bap tracks anymore.

I'm kinda turned off by Analog-synths or analog sounding synths. That's why i've really been into FM, chiptunes and 8-bit.

I can't see myself making wack beats. Was never really a fan of wack beats...they're just wack IMO, ya dig? So, yeah, wack beats, I'm not ever trying to make them no mo'.

^^^^me either Aje. lol

for me its like this, I usually make a collection of tracks based on a mood or a particular style I'm trying to perfect or put in the grab bag so after I milk the inspiration that put me in the mood, then I'll move to something else. Lately I've been less sample heavy and had to get back to my 808 sh!t because I feel like I'd been neglected that style all together. Mostly because the sound is everywhere so theres not a lot of inspiration to re-invent the wheel, so to speak.

And even then I'm getting tired of making tracks at like 74-84 bpms. I like to make faster tempo tracks around 88-98, so I feel like Im headed back into an experimental mood to speed up the sound. But you wont really find me making any of the sampled stuff w/ the chimpmunk vocal loops or the excessive intro tracks simply because they come off stale to me. Or just a really busy sampled track( I know I'm guilty of it myself) w/ instruments that dont really fit the mood of the song. Or some really cookie cutter type tracks. I hate cookie cutter tracks.

Sped up vocal samples. .. its at a point where if I have to ASK you WTF your sample is saying it makes me not want to listen.

OVER synthisized beats. . I LOVE a good synth but some kids go Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overboard with it.

Beats that are way too busy. I know a lot of guys who do this and don't leave room for the emcee on the track

no style i don't see myself doing ever again but i'm kinda fatigued with boom bap as well. i don't think i'll ever make a speed up sample though. only situation i see myself doing it is if the sample is too hot and i can't find the break with no vocals.

I don't think I can ever do a techno song or a song above 100bpms. I've tried, but I always end up slowing them down and making them into something I can vibe with even more.

Crunk is definitely dead. I'm kinda tired of samples that are sped up to the point where the instruments and vocals don't sound like they could be done by actual humans. Like, Turb said, I'll still do it if i hear something that would sound good, but my preference right now is to either keep a sample near the original sound, slow it down, or not sample at all

i was commenting on something similar earlier, so ill drop my two cents.

i hate slow for nothing beats, faster beats are more exciting, but if u gonna slow it down, make the mufukka drip you know? im all for sparse beats but they need some girth to them. like if its just a snare and a kick, over compensate with the bass. i dunno... just ranting i guess... bass is like a red head step child around here. im not saying drop lil jon bass, im just saying actually HAVING bass that registers is nice.. ok im done...

I hate laid back mellow joints. I like music to be intense, mellow shyt dont do nothin for me. I guess its cuz of my rap metal background.
