first thing I thought when I saw the thread.
okay........
RB14:ohmy: I mean . That's a really good choice on that sample I love that song mayne. And you kept the same feel on the track. And as usual your mixes are fuking flawless. I'd stamp that track up just like you did and shop it around.
RB15: I see the MJ theme you got going on.lol This is the illest MJ flip I've probably ever heard. Damn you need to start posting more or you sh!t. I love that ambiant sound w/ a clean mix and punchy drums. That's the sound I'm trying to perfect at the moment. Just a really polished sound.
RB16: This sounds like that smoove jazz sh!t my dad's always playing and trying to put me up on. I was raised on that. So it's hard for me not to like this track. A grown man's track.
55: you took it back to the essence. Sounds like early Mobb Deep. The vinyl and that SP grimeness give it that edge and the reverb snare was a nice transition into the chorus. I never saw that coming.
56:  you're fool for this remake. Takes me back to 9th grade when they first when those boys first came out. I"ve never heard anybody even attempt to remake it.
Damn I can't believe nobody's come and gave you some feed on these. This is a nice little demo package to shop around if you ask me. I knew you were the mix king, but damn you got some MAJOR fire in your arsenal Choc.

Thanks for the feedback.
R&B14 - I just liked the sample lol, really it could be used by itself without adding anything lol. I built a hook around what was already there to differentiate the hook from the verse and added thicker drums.
R&B15 - started out as just a funny joke thing after I finished with the other mijac sample. After about an hour or so of playing around it started turning into a real beat lol. I imagined a male R&B vocalist singing about a chick. The actualy title I gave the beat is "She's A Thriller"
R&B16 - Nothing too crazy. Jazz influenced, took about 15 minutes to make lol.
55 - is a complete mobb deep rip lol. I just really liked the beat and wanted to remake it. I'll probably add some stuff to it in the future to make it more mine.
56 - lately Ive been into sample stuff that not old soul and not 80's. Mainly because thats my weakness lol, I just cant flip those old soul samples like some of you cats in here. Plus I dont think too many people are flipping samples that arent really old, like thats a rule or something. After listening to it for a while and thinking about how I'd flip it I decided to just replay everything and remake it but give it a more updated sound. Turned out pretty good. Early Bone Thugs stuff is some of my fav music ever so Ive remade/sampled a ton of their stuff over the years.
Its funny how when your just in the lab messing around with no real plan you can make some of your best stuff. I cant count how many times Ive set out to make a certain type of beat and went in to put it down and ended up quitting without even saving it lol. Just goes to show you have to let it come to you, you cant force it.

r&b16 is real smooth. i like it a lot. the mixing is real good. Everything about this one is dope.
r&b15: Its pretty easy to make a hit out of a hit. I don't think the beat took that 'sample' to a new level or anything. The original is obviously better than what you turned it into. It'd be real dope if I had never heard the original.
