No...For one, NYOIL has never ever been remotely relevant to the genre of hip-hop...he's generally a nobody...not in underground circles and not even on the internet...his whole 20 year Walmart shades wearing career precisely amounts to squat but gas station pay stubs and fitful blogs...The comparison doesn't click imo...

Nah this is bullsh1t. Going at an established rapper is a great way to get your name out there, especially because if they go back at you because everyone has a tendancy to root for the underdog. Play it right and people will perceive you as on the same platform as the rapper your going at.

The only problem you face is being blackballed.

50 Going at Ja
The Game going at 50
Nelly going at KRS
Jim Jones going at Jay-Z
Kanye going at 50
Eminem going at Benzino
Nas vs Jay

I could give you a whole lot more examples too.

All these rappers benefited from the publicity they got. 50 blew up. The Game stayed relevant. Nelly gained respect. Jimmy got publicity. Kanye WON. Eminem got a hit record. Nas' career came back from the dead.

So basically. Your post was 13 words that equaled 1 - Bullsh1t.

None of these refute the original statement.

50 and Game started beefing with each other after Game didn't want to be his yes man, but both had established themselves before the beef. And it was wack

KRS was the one who went at Nelly cuz Nelly was blowing up on some pop shyt and Kris decided to take offense. And it was wack

Jim beefin with Jay didn't help him at all. "Ballin!" is the only thing that made him famous, and that didn't last very long.

Kanye and 50 were both more than established, and it wasn't really even a beef. And it was wack

Benzino went at Eminem, first of all. And you saw how that turned, he's still just as (un)popular as ever and he lost his magazine. And it was wack

Jay went at Nas, and both were already established (legends, or near it).

Again, none of these examples refute the statement that new rappers dissing established rappers doesn't work out well for the new rapper.
