I'm not a bad shape.. but I'm not as tone and skinny as I'd like to be..

I have the hourglass I just want to tone up.

Any tips on how to tone up the legs/belly without losing the body all together?

thanks

you can lower your body fat. you cant spot reduce tho. i found that out the hard way.

your best bet would be to increase muscle mass. start sqautting.

If you're an hourglass, you are going to retain that shape with those proportions, just smaller or larger depending on if you gain weight. But for some girls, they lose body fat in their breasts first, and there isn't much you can do about that.

As a woman, you can lift heavier weights in your routine and not really gain mass like men do. It would take lots of diet regulation and supplements to get brolic like a dude, so don't worry about getting big from lifting heavier.
I like to use this site for training: http://www.stumptuous.com/cms/index.php if you are trying to figure out where to start.

Do a week or two w/ just the bar. You wanna make sure your form is perfect before you start adding weight, that way you dont have to worry about your back.

That guy's form is pretty good. Stick your chest out, spread your lats, stick your ass out, squat below parallel. i got tear drops on my quads and an apple bottom from doin full squats

do weights and work your whole body. you can't spot train which sux. no matter how hard i try i'll never have a completely flat belly, thats where all my weight is.. and the first thing to go was my boobs.. dd to c/d :(

yeah.... *scratches beard*.... sure it is.

when my girl got started with squats, I had her do two sets of four unweighted squats.... building up to 3 sets of 10 before adding 5-lb dumbbells. and since women have broader hips, it'd be wise if you hold the dumbbells at your shoulders as if it's a bar. this should avoid shoulder fatigue (from holding the dumbbells away from the hips) and prevent posture problems.

learn proper form/flexibility/technique before you graduate to the squat rack.

Jus start workin out with a wholistic approach and not just 1 specific area. Get your whole body fit, increase flexibility, and focus on improving function in the body. Strenghen your core. Oh and when doing cardio, 20 minutes of moderate to high intensity beats an hour of low intensity cardio anyday.
