Right, but we were hating on dude. According to all the folks who screamed at us, because we called him out on his BS. I called it, when he spoke about this the first time. Once he started talking, he was not going to shut up. He was going to go oerboard with his "opinion." For real, homie we heard you the first time when you did your blog. We heard your opinion, let it go now.

one leads to the other, nyoil knows that.
nyoil thinks he IS what everybody says nas is, some black prophet who's all about the betterment of his people and really means it, it aint just some fluke. thats why the stick is so deep in his ass right now, he thinks nas gets undeserved praise for bein some concious savior when he really aint that guy. i cant say i disagree really, i dont know why all these people classify nas as concious or positive or whatever, lol, is it because of "i can" alone? here and there he drops jewels but most of the time he's aggressive as f*ck wit it, he's basically a "gangsta" rapper wit skills. nyoil and most other unsigned bum rappers fail to realize that theres so much more other sh!t that plays into bein a success, nyoil can not be nas because nas has more appeal. girls like how he looks, n!ggas is always gonna like him no matter what off the strength of his first two albums, he has madd relationships in the industry with power players and radio people, etc... nyoil can not and will not ever be nas, he needs to come to terms with that. dead prez and them probably feel the same way about nas.

This isexactly what he wasnts. It all comes from going at Nas. Nobody is making threats against dude. Some of us, just disgree with his opinions. In which he so publically stated. So, you can't expect people not to react. Anyway, this site isn't going to advance anything for him. Being that SOHH doesn't turn into sound scan and record sales.

nah I don't block people out just because they dissed one of my top 5 but I just went and listened to Whats up my wigger & capn save a hoe and I think dude is pretty dope but him dissing somebody just because they don't express the same views he believes in is some bullsh*t, thats like me trying to diss a Atheist just because they don't believe in christ. Dude already said the same thing he is still repeating when Pete Rosenberg interviewed him and he should have left it at that but now hes trying to bring his career up and I don't think thats right.

it's deeper then that. he feels nas is being counterproductive to his already much maligned race. nyoil's trying to champion accountability amongst blacks.
plus he was in the umc's and martin had theyre poster on his wall for udeen years.

Nas never said he was some conscious savior. You guys had that perception of him. In fact, you guys put all these rappers on some kind of pedistal. They can't control the preception you guys have of them. Nor can they control how you look at them. It's not his fault. Anyway, who said Nas is faking it? Who says he isn't or wasn't serious? Who said he can't express his feelings and opinions on these kinds of issues? Ihe problem I have with NYOIL , is that he's going about everything the wrong way.
He's trying to dicredit Nas in the eyes of fans and the public. To me, thats wrong. Again, it's all about perception (which is something that your commrad 50 uses). Since he knows a lot of fans have a taintd view of Nas and his personal life. He decides to jump on it, knowing it's going to bring some attention to him. Speaking of which, it doesn't mean Nas isn't involved in the community. For the record, Nas has had more positive jewels and songs besides I Can. Really, do people even actually listen to music anymore. I'm not just talking about Illmatic. I'm talking about when dude was Kid Wave. Again folks really need to do thei research.
For the record, For you. This "I'm so righteous" act isn't convincing. All these preaching "brothers" are hardly what they say they really are, and many of these dudes are not practicing what they're preaching behind closed doors. Kind of like those trench coat "black panthers" on 125th street warning us about the white man... when they'll be quick to hop in bed with a white chick on the low. No one's a real radical anymore. So all this I'm-a-righteous-rapper stuff is doo-doo. Yes, I'm talking about NYOIL.
I'm gettin sick of all these bum nyggaz that are trying to come up off of other nyggaz names!!!
As if Deshawn Stevenson wasn't enuff in the BBALL world....We got this fake ass righteous nygga....

well i'm not inside the mind of NYOIL but i'd think it had something to do with Nas' album title, showing up to the grammies with white women donning N word shirts, then completely fumbling his chance to explain his provocative album title when faced with CNN's microphones.
and Nas' all around doucheiness as well.

1. Album titles can't be counterproductive. They're just titles of the actual albums, and serve no platter for judgement and/or critical analysis. As he ever heard the saying that goes 'don't judge a book by the cover'...?
2. A "******" could be defined as a member of a socially disadvantaged class of people. Hence his message. Hence the non-black people dawning the T-shirts. NYOIL clearly doesn't possess a functioning brain.
3. Nas isn't a good interviewee, he's a good rapper. He raps on albums and subsequently releases em. That's what he's known for, that's what he does. He's a music artist, who makes music. Could gas station clerk boy kindly stfu until Nas actually releases the music album of said title?

of course album titles can be discussed, mulled over and criticized. Nas knows that more than any single mc in the game right. he's extended his career via the album title. so to attack a veteran mc, with a fully functional brain, who's looking to do his part in reforming the status quo in hip hop like NYOIL is attempting to do is to attack hip hop itself. you're closing down the discussion before it's been fully hashed out. there's no resolution if you have it your way. again, don't let simply being a nas fan keep you from enjoying NYOIL's music.

Black folks love to hate on each other.

Who said anything about not enjoying his music?
And no, album titles can't be or shouldn't be decisive grounds for criticism or ciritcal analysis of any form. It's a title that introduces an entire project, not intending to harm but rather to grab attention. If he has a problem with the title, he's a moron, because countless major commercial releases have contained the word since maybe the 70's.
"so to attack a veteran mc, with a fully functional brain, who's looking to do his part in reforming the status quo in hip hop like NYOIL [or Nas] is attempting to do is to attack hip hop itself."
^This quote right here, is gospel truth, as it also precisely applies to Nas. You've just majorly contradicted yourself, or NYOIL.
Bottom line is there is pretty much nothing to discuss right now. There's nothing groundbreaking or particularly novel about the title. Its one single didn't disappoint, topically or musically. Again I don't see NYOIL's point, or yours for that matter.

nyoil thinks he IS what everybody says nas is
exactly, but the point is, it takes more than a "message" to be nas, this n1gga sound like he's mad, because he's not the champion of this kick knowledge movement, who gives a fucck, nas is an artist and he has something to say, and honestly it seems like the n1gga missed the entire point of the song, even if he honestly thought it was wack, cool...
but where in the song is he telling you that you can't respond to people who offend you in ANY way whether it be racially or whatever...this n1gga is just standing on his soap box, i'm not impressed and i really don't care what he thinks about a top 5 rapper of all time, he's irrelevant
now that ain't saying i won't check his music or not call him dope, but it is what it is, dude is small peanuts, and it really sounds like he wishes he could be nas
who the fukk is ny oil ?
sounds like a fuggin rockefeller wannabe or somethin

that quote you bolded was intentionally designed to draw parrallels between the two artists as i'm not arguing for or against one or the other.
my point has always been two things:
1. NYOIL is a dope artist.
2. Nas is not above criticism
