When people told the truth about how it was living in the hood, NOBODY thought that sh*t was hot. When niqqas glorified that sh*t and made it seem like it was DisneyWorld and you weren't sh*t if you weren't from there, people thought "damn! Bein' 'hood' is the sh*t!" And that's not just limited to white people either- a lot of US buy into that sh*t too.

Baldwin Hills is a black community where many of the the people there are well established, its not really hood but its down the street from the hood

Like its been said everybody in the hood dont live in poverty & everybody don't glory the bad stuff. Sometimes its more of a pride thing, like thats where I grew up at & had alot of good times & memories, might not have always been good experiences but some focus more on the positive. As for white people, can't really speak for them, the ones I've been around don't do it even though they listen to rap.

To me its just the whole scenery of living in the hood. After living in the hood for so long you just get tired of seeing some of the sh1t you see on a daily basis. F**k looking at junkies all day and f**ked up houses and n1ggas selling dope on the block on the daily. It don't matter if you involved in sh1t or not.. I just hate the scenery. Gang of n1ggas at the park huddled up smoking and drinking and thats why i got out plus a n1gga started making a lil money so. I ain't never going back if i can help it.

OF COURSE everybody in the hood isn't poor, but the FACT is, most of us living in the innercity do live below the poverty line, and ARE INDEED poor. Why else do you think crime is so prevalent in our communities. ..while you might be right in that particular instance, elsewhere in the U.S. WHITE PPL (WHITE BUS./ORGANIZATIONS) are MAINLY the ones buying up all the property in the innercity. Its ALIVE AND WELL in Atlanta, from Techwood, to the 4the Ward, even Auburn Ave. which used to be the wealthiest BLACK street in America. So it's like a slap in the face..
