Im just getting back into competitive sports, and I need to loose like 10 pounds to get faster. Ever since I stopped playing I have horrible eating habits burgers wings etc.... Can someone map out for me what I should eat like lunch dinner snack etc... what foods I can eat what I cant.

I've been trying to eat grilled chicken for dinner and power/protein bars for lunch and maybe a snack.

eating grilled chicken and a protein bar isn't enough if you're working out.. you'll slow down your metabolism and start burning into muscle.. you need fuel.

Eggs
Pastas
Meats
Vegetables
Fruits
etc..

Eating good is not hard, people just tend to over think it.

My basic schedule goes something like (times are not exact)

Wake up
6:30am - Immediate protein shake w/ milk
7:30am - Go to work
9:00am - Eatin Tailor Ham Egg and Cheese on a Bagel w/ water or orange juice
12:00noon - 12" Turkey lettuce and cheese on a wheat bread sub w/ water OR eating leftovers from last nights dinner lol
3:00pm - Eating a couple granola bars, couple apples, banana... something to fill my stomach.
4:30pm - Get off work
5:30-8pm - Working out somewhere in between these hours.

Then after wokring out I take my post-workout supplements (currently taking a month off to cycle) and protein shake. I eat dinner hour later which consists of a mixture of variations of chicken, chop meat, pot roast, pasta, rice, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, beans, noodles, corn, and some more I'm forgetting.

Nothing fancy, nothing I had to schedule a week before hand. It's not the most perfect diet, but it gets the job done. I don't like having to OD on diets and go out of my way to make sure I'm eating "this" at a certain time in "this" certain amount. Too much thinking to be bothered with. Just know what to stay away from.

You don't need to follow peoples guidelines to eating but understand how they're eating. Once you understand, making your own eating schedule is easy.

lot's of clean foods. lean meats, whole grains, fresh fruit and vegetables..

typical breakfast is cereal with skim milk and fruit or wholegrain bagels with light cream cheese and fruit
lunch - salad with cold meats... turkey, roast beef, chicken breast etc..
dinner is grilled meat, fish, chicken, steak with vegetables, stir fry or gluten free pasta with tomato based sauces..

in between is diet yoghurt, muesli, protein shakes, supplements, more fruit, cans of tuna (yuk)

it gets boring but it works..

I lost 10 lbs since I've actually started eating right. So what are you saying?

Or are you just salty cuz I called that article you posted a piece of ****?

He's playing a competitive sport. He'll lose weight regardless along with building his speed. I'm assuming you don't know anything about this judging from your recent posts. Lol @ 185 being too much for a 5'9 athlete. (http://forums.sohh.com/showthread.php?p=1059866036#post1059866036)
