When hemi's came out, it was a unique design in that the combustion chamber in the head is a hemispherical shape, allowing for better breathing on the intake and exhaust strokes of the pistons.

I'm about to cop an STX (because of the same budget problem). Those put out 250 horse power, but I was thinking about getting an after market intake/filter to give it a little boost.
The biggest difference with getting a Hemi is it eats up more gas:thumbsdow

I'm doing the same thing to mod it for a little boost. I love it though...

when gas barely shy of $4 a gallon, more horses is NOT whats hot in the streets.

Actually getting a cold air intake and a new filter is supposed to help with gas mileage (at least thats what they advertise). But it probably depends on the whip. I'm pushing a gas guzzling ford explorer right now, so it won't be as bad as it is for me now.

From what I read, the Hemi engines of today are not the same as the golden years. Just SOHH clowns acting like base models aren't shyt.

Interesting read...

Birth of the HEMI
The HEMI engine for automobiles was born in 1948 -- Harry Westlake and several others developed a Hemi 6-cylinder engine for Jaguar. A few years later, in 1951, Chrysler introduced a 180-horsepower HEMI V-8 engine on several models. The Chrysler HEMI engine had a displacement of 331 cubic inches (5.4 liters), so it is known as the "331 HEMI."
Sadly you'll still have peeps who would 180hp V-8>>>250hp V6

Yeah, I read on MSN.com that there will be no more V8's released after 2020 because of environmental regulations. They said Ford already discontinued V8's.

This the 2nd era of muscle cars. The 1st era died with the gas problem in the 70's.. the same shyts is happening again.
Hope to have a 05+ Mustang, 09 Challenger and at least 1 other v-8 beast from the 1990's---->2010 in my garage. I'm 29 now... when I'm 45 these fukkers will be the new Muscle cars.
I have a R/T Magnum now and they are already discontinued (becuase Chrysler used the factory for the Challenger).. I may keep it garaged also. Unlike my moms who traded in all her cars as she bought new ones, I plan to do what my uncle did and keep every car he loved garaged, when he gets a new one. Dude has a mean old-school car game.

speak for yourself i actually was about to cop the real charger (if it aint a v8, it aint a charger) and that v6 model is slow as ****, the v8 keeps it kinda fast

The 3.5 puts out 250 horse power and adding a cold air intake puts on another 15 or so. I don't want a gas guzzling V8. Its not like I can use it to its full potential since i'm 1 speeding ticket away from having my liscense suspended.
