what up good people...
recently i've been goin hard (no homo) on fine tuning the mind, body, soul connection (when one suffers they all suffer, when one is thriving they are all thriving, because they're are all inexorably connected)... and ive learned a few things that have helped me.
as far as the physical, instead of bulking up im just trying to get lean and solid, strong... and i figured i might as well share what i've been doing as it may help someone else as it has helped me..
so here we go...
-if you're looking for an inexpensive breakfast routine i would suggest eggs and turkey bacon sandwiches... i like to throw some simmered spinach in there as well and then toast it... sh*t is the bomb and all the ingredients are cheap. $9 and you got breakfast for two weeks.
or
-apples and OJ... simple, cheap, nutritous
-im hella active so i drink lots of water... i copped a water filter-pitcher for $25 and keep a water bottle filled...easy, healthy
-MILK! i can't emphasize this enough... milk has more protein in it than you think and can be used to feed muscle growth without adding too many calories, not to mention its other health benefits... i drink at least two glasses of soy milk a day (get the vanilla or the very vanilla, sh*ts the BOMB!)
-fruits for snacks... apples, oranges, grapes, pineapple, whatever... fruit has natural sweetner in it and is a much better choice than candy or fast food.
-PEANUT BUTTER... again, mad cheap, mad protein, not a lot of calories... good if you're going for the lean look... and if you can find the kind with the flax in it even better, check the health food store...
-QUINOA ... a grain that tastes similar to rice but with much better health benefits... i used to make rice with everything so this was really key for me... and again, hella cheap...
-Salad... here's the thing with salads... you can make them taste just about any way you want... throw fruits in there, throw chicken in there, throw tuna whatever... i like to use a bed of spinach, cut up tomatoes, cauliflower, carrots and celery... for dressing i'll use a combination of apple cider vinegar (also good for you) and the dressing of the week, i like to switch it up...
-TUNA... u already know... mad protein, mad cheap
-Tea... i drink green anti-oxidant tea with a splash of silk and a spoonful of sugar... this is great late at night to curb the late night appetite
-and never forget the most important element in any endeavor is WILL POWER, PATIENCE and DISCIPLINE... a journey of a thousand miles starts with one step.
This is just what i do but you should find a routine that works for you...routine is also very important so that your body adjusts and knows what to expect. If you feed your body in excess, it will expect excess and you will continue to eat more. If you eat just until satisfied, then your body will adjust to that as well... I used to eat like a machine but after a few hard days of eating less, now my body expects less and can function on less... not to mention im feeding it much better fuel than i used to.
so less of the good foods >>>>>>>> more of the bad foods ... makes sense don't it?
i hope this helps... i've learned so much from others in here and elsewhere that im trying to give a little back...
peace
