Damn, I just don't know what happened to you n*ggas south of the Macie-Dixie line. Your whole brand of music is shallow and just outright flawed.

I can't state this enough--

...the inability for you to push the ART of hip-hop to its limits has single-handily stymied the music industry flatout. Instead of producing the new Nas, we're inundated with the grand flash of Soljia Boy.

Thank you for that. :thumbdow

Do you dudes understand the magnitude of your reckless and simple-minded ways? Seriously, its not only the fact you have purged the essense of having true talent to be a hip-hop artist, you've made it a culture to thumb your nose at the mere DESIRE of achieving anything more.

Like I know on the first page, you're sure to have the usual Southern apologists attack everything I've written. And for what? Because I'm wrong? Hell, nah. They know I'm right. In fact, I believe they are indeed just as embarrassed as I am, but the blind allegiance of common residential zip codes plays wonders on the mind.

Don't get me wrong, this is not an attack on any one artist or fan from the South-- but more a shot across the bow of ALL of you as a whole. I challenge you to start challenging yourselves. Its your inherent responsibilty to cherish the benefits of prior generations hard work. You didn't become 'hot' all by yourselves. I can't lie, your time is now. But just because something is yours now doesn't mean its yours forever. Its only a matter of time before Hip-hop moves in a different direction. But can you cats from the South honestly admit to yourselves that anybody has benefited from your current reign?

C'mon, you can do better.

Why dont NYC challenge themselves to put out something decent? Why yall depending on us to make music you want to hear? When NYC was running things we still made music for us. Why cant yall do the same?

What yall up north cats need to realize is the masses are checking for your beat and hook first and foremost. Until you get a beat someone will listen to nobody is gonna check for you.

Yea but when NYC was on top the south was putting out good music and had quality artists, not the garbage that we have now. Hip Hop back in day was an artform and you had to come correct, now it doesn't feel that way. People just want to eat off it and suck it dry.

I hate to say it but the decline in music started when we started having our own sh*t. When everybody and their uncle has a record label what do you expect? Everybody just out to get money.

Dude, stop trying to rationalize everything and start being accountable for the what type/quality of music coming from your region.

Damn.

While I hold the artists themselves largly responsible for this catastrophic era a music, the fans/followers of the South should be equally admonished for making it acceptable to release such trash as 'hot music'.

You my friend are a sheep. No offense, but I'm calling it exactly how I see it. You see trash and still try to pass it off as roses. That's unacceptable. Atleast you would think it should be.

But here you have this guy talking about NYC and sh*t that has nothing to do with the efforts of the South.

Tell me: do you claim the South's music to be one of progressive incline?

That's like asking a basketball player is he playing for the love of the game or that fat check he's getting. It's a little of both I assume some people are in it for the love of the music. Then you have some people who see it as a hustle and a way to come up in life. I don't think the south is the only region guilty of this. 50 Cent should definitely be asked this question.

Bruh first and foremost acknowledge that the business is supply and demand.

Second I know most Southern artists are in it for the pay or use rap as a alternative to a 9-5 job. Point blank!

I don't like most of this ish no more than anyone else. But there's garbage coming from all corners of the U.S. I only check for a couple of rappers, Young Dro at the top. Yukmouth, Outkast, Rza, Obie and a few more.

why you isolating the south like the east got nothing to do with it? it's funny cause jim jones was screaming all that new york, east coast time is now sheit during that hip hop summit and then turns around and does a remix of we fly high with diddy, TI, YOUNG DRO, AND BIRDMAN!!! so instead of putting other east coast artists on possibly the hottest single in 2006, you decide to lay down and rep the south? ny starting to look like a state full of crybabies.

why artist from ny always talking about the game phucked up because of the south??? like companies only giving out deals to ninja's that have an atlanta or texas driver's license.

and straight up, nas ain't drop anything hot since stillmatic...and before that, i am and nastradamous was trash! so why you insisting we need to find another rapper like nas???
