I disagree with top 10 lyricist and having a classic album.. His flow was pretty much the same on every song as well. his fast rapping not taking a breath flow..He was trash to me.

Yo this is ridiculous. You dudes have got to be:
1. White
2. Young
3. Lame
To say Pun was trash makes me ashamed to even post on this forum. I'm starting to think you dudes just doing it for the shock. Pun is a legend, the dude's first album rides from beginning to end, it's a true classic. You loser probably didn't even hear the album. I can respect someone not considering him to be so great but to say he's trash is ridiculous.

Content > Flow

He could maintain a fast lyrical pace for long stints with long-drawn-out bars and sentences hence the reputation he had for breath control, but when he did catch his breaths, they were sorta loud so I understand that criticism.

Other than that, dude was a complete out and out emcee eater. He had the most unbelievable punchlines and delivery concepts (sh-sh-sh*t on you)

Go back and relisten to CP son, dude glowed on the mic.

I'm pure adrenaline, uncut, straight to your gut, medicine
Raw cure for pain I coat your brain like polyurathane
Simple and plain, I'll explain it in layman terms
If you came to learn how to make fire, I'm-a make it burn!
Higher and hotter than lava this scholar
is 'bout just as smart as MacGyver
To put honor inside the heart of a lion
revolved in a life of crime (crime!)
**** it I like the shine (shine!), Up in the white and lime (lime!)
Comes with the pipe design
Plushed out! (No doubt!) Both pockets about to bust out
If you not in it for the spinach, GET THE **** OUT!
Take a hike, we can even battle to make it right
Go 'head lace the mic, you finished? Say good night...
Head to head in the street, I'll leave you dead in your feet
Settlin' beef, I'll even let you rhyme to the Benjamin beat
But it won't matter, you dreams still gon' shatter
It's a long ladder to climb and mine is on the stagger
So get outta town, 'fore I hit you
with the loudest sound you ever heard
Desert bird player you outta bounds

joe took years before he was even getting props.

"Now we killin them Howard *****z, who said I must of found Pun's rhyme book"

and the only reason you hear big pun breathe on the mic is because he would go for insane periods for time without breathing. listen to how long he goes before his first breath on that pakinamac skit

You didn't but when I think of wack rappers with plat. albums those are the rappers that come to mind and Pun's far from them. I personally liked Yeeeah Baby! but I dig Pun's sh!t to begin with. Some like myself would say Biggie's a legend and people base that on only 2 albums...why can't it be the same for Pun?

 @ this idiot.....I guess as his weight climbed to extreme and deadly numbers you could say his breathe control worsened, but to say he always rapped off beat and that Fat Joe was better is completely baseless.....your an idiot, who's prolly 18 or 19 years old who don't know shiit about real hip-hip.....

SMH at this thread I guess people are still mad that Pun sh*t on their favorite rapper even after all these years he's been dead pathetic. Pun is a legend and top 5 all-time rapper dude could rap circles around the best MC's on the planet and lyrically and flow wise there are few who could keep up with him.
