It's mostly tax too :grrr:

We pay 63.7p per litre in TAX, that means we pay $4.76 a gallon in TAX before we even start paying for that petrol!

yeah Europeans pay crazy taxes on their gas, thats why they have small cars and alot of diesel powered ones
over 50% of it is taxes while here its done by cents and its usually about 30%
but back to topic, Top Gears is cool when they review exotics but man there's too much hate for US made products

It's because most of your cars are rubbish (garbage) on anything other than a long straight road. If you don't want "hate" (lol) then stop making such ****ty cars
Plus Clarkson knows it gets people mad.

I disagree that all our cars suck(although most do) but its not just the cars its a bunch of little joke
that ep when they came to the US and pretty much showed all the stereotypical redneck from here
the man also hated on the last model Vette which is the ish, how the hell do you try to compare it to a Ferrari worth 3x as much?

Well, it is unfair becaue on American TV the brits are NEVER stereotypical.....

He didn't mind that car and the stig did a good time around the track (#15)
But he told you the truth, it was a track ONLY car. Real world ownership = terrible
1. The ride is brutal
2. The gearbox is rubbish
3. The interior is horrible
4. The radio is useless
5. Too wide
6. The tire noise is deafening
And he was stopped there by Hammond..
But like I said, he doesn't "hate" on all American cars, he rightly says that most American cars are terrible, it's not "hate" it's called "truth". Be it the ancient technology (lol @ leaf springs), the cheap interior or the lack of ability to do anything other than go in a straight lines (suits the American market of course).
With that said I love classic american cars, some of the best style EVER.
top gear is on bbc america
american cars are garbage so its hard for them not to bash let alone find something decent to campare them to

yeah but he doesnt do that with other high-end sports cars he review, none of that ish matters with them
and you're talking about a $60k car that competes with cars worth over $150K some corners had to be cut

Where they tested "Moroso" is close to where I live. Actually, they show a brief cut of them driving down PGA Blvd outside of my neighborhood. I got really hype when I saw that.
But yeah, they do portray Americans (and Germans, and Italians, and Australians) stereotypically, but Clarkson also makes fun of modern Brits as well.
Conversely, Brits are often portrayed stereotypically in America, but not always negatively. Right now the Bachelor is a British guy with the "Dude with the accent has come here to steal our women" thing going. The American media, like America itself, is the most diverse in the world. You'll always be able to find something that depicts a people a certain way.
As for Top Gear, I fvcking love the show. Can't wait for Season 11 this fall. I do, however, think they peaked a bit with Season 9.
