you know a nerd doesn't know the first thing about fighting when A) he uses the general term "martial arts" without specifying which ones and B) when they try and claim Jackie Chan would beat Mike Tyson in a street fight. The thread starter probably takes fukkin karate, TKD or kung fu classes anyway, which are almost useless.

Boxing is a martial art. Like almost every other martial art, on it's own it is limited in a no rules match. TKD, Karate, Kung Fu, Judo, Wrestling, on their own they would all get beat within a minute by a UFC fighter IN a UFC match. Therefore to say "Martial Arts > Boxing", means you are actually nerdy enough to group some suburban McDojo TKD warriors into the group that could beat a boxer in a fight, which is the funniest thing I've read all day (next to the one about Jackie Chan being able to take a top boxer in a real fight).

and btw, you may as well take Bruce Lee out of your AVI because he wouldn't last a minute in a UFC match with ANY UFC lightweight. If that is what you think the pinnacle of "martial arts" is, you don't have the first clue boy.

ain't no way boxers are worse fighters than some black belt chump who spar 1 time per month
when we get that work in its real fighting, full contact, and at least 3 times per week for at least 3 rounds
we trained to take alot more punishment when we in there taking full power punches to the chin and body over and over again day in and day out
plus boxing is simple, jab, right, hook, uppercuts head body block parry slip bob and weave
but it still takes a long time to learn and become an expert at and thats just concentrating on a little bit of techniques compared to some of the asian fighting styles that use alot of impractical moves so you never become an expert at one move but an amateur at all of them cuse you learn so many different moves
plus even the asian fighters recognized the superiority of boxing becuse they learned balance from western boxing which is the main foundation in any martial art philosophy

exactly, half the sh1t you're yapping about is stuff that hasn't been mentioned or even implied.

-Jackie Chan is a stuntsman, not a martial artist.
-Tae Kwon Do, like most of the other sh1t you dragged into the thread, is NOT what i was talking about when i said martial arts. Nor was I referring to Judo or Wrestling:laugh: My god, thats all grappling and take downs my misguided friend.
-UFC is Mixed martial arts, that can be compared to boxing to a certain extent, but come on buddy.
-the whole concept of mixing martial arts was pioneered by Bruce Lee. If you had any idea of how he trained, you would know better than to think those little sandbox bastards in the UFC could knock him out. Every flaw in their fighting methods would be exposed in a fight against someone like bruce lee, an attempted takedown would cost them tragically, trust me. Or go look up Jeet Kune Do.

GTFOH, Rocky.

lol @ this Tae Bo Ho. You've proven beyond a shadow of a doubt you don't have the first clue about real fighting. First off, what martial arts are you talking about?? You still haven't said, because now you have eliminated Judo, Wrestling, and Boxing (which happen to be three of the principle disciplines trained by modern MMA fighters). TKD is out. So what are you on about? Some Shaolin Monk bullshyt in the mountains of China?? I sure as hell know, whatever the hell they are training out in China is NOT what you and your goofy sensei are training at your strip mall McDojo. That doesn't even matter though.

And yeah, Bruce Lee would get BODIED by any random lightweight the UFC had. BJ Penn would twist him like a pretzel and break every major joint in his body. Takanori Gomi would knock his head off. A prime Tyson would have mauled the little bastard. Get real. What Bruce Lee talked about with JKD was an EXTREMELY basic form of what is now known as MMA today. You could say he pioneered the idea, but what he actually trained in and was capable of (all clearly documented in his book) is straight up "sandbox" compared to what guys are training in today. Judo Gene Lebell slapped Lee around and made him his daddy. Helio Gracie would have humiliated him as well. Lee himself admitted that Ali would have kicked his azz had they fought. The myth surrounding Bruce Lee's fighting abilities (which were NEVER proven in any way, shape, or form) kills me.

wtf@ this turning into a convo about Bruce Lee because of my old avi

look, i've participated in tang soo do and boxing so you can't tell me sh1t. lol@ what all those people supposedly "would have done" to Bruce lee...he could beat YOUR ass so get those dude's cocks out of your throat and stfu about a "McDojo". Talkin' about real fighting:laugh: what? real e-fighting? well, you can keep your little e-heavyweight championship while folks like me and your heroes are actually training and making punching bags out of stans like you. When you join a gym or something then holla at me.

UFC is hot garbage. its the most boring **** ever to watch. they say in the beginning this dude is trained in BJJ and is a blackbelt in muay thai. then they stand around like 2 dicks until finally after 1 kick both of them are on the grounds and then the rest of the round is some zzz grappling and punching each other in the back of the head.

oh you must be a fukkin genius B. mike weighs about 4 times as much as bruce. and bruce was an AMAZING boxer. not a western boxer but i'm sure he could adapt. he wouldn't have a hard time winning belts in the appropriate weight class.
