it depends what age, white people in their mid 20's LOVE pearl jam and shyt like that. Its crazy, i'll listen to this shyt and be amazed at how wack it is, but these niqqas eat it up...that and "sublime" niqqas will ride to the death for that wack ass band. Theres a couple others but i dont even know enough to name names and I dont have the patience to listen to that garbage. Teenage white people fukk with falloutboy and all those bands with stupid names and homosexual lead singers like my chemical disco panic or whatever like that.

They reminisce about bands like Creed, anticipate the next Staind album and think about how much emo has grown on them.

This is quite possibly the stupidest question I have seen on this site.
Just like blacks, white people listen to an infinite variety of music.
As with rap, there are sub-groups, supergroups, underground groups, pop groups, intellectual groups, crazy groups, old groups, new groups, and so on.
Ask yourself this...as a general maxim, what do black dudes listen to? Doesn't it vary just as much?
Even if you are talking about douche jock frat boys, the same rules apply. Variety baby.

Don't bullsh!t like you don't know the names of the bands.
i had no idea such a basic joke could go over somebodies head.
of course i know the names of the bands, i have cable television and eyeballs, which is basically all you need to have your brain saturated with this shyt daily.
:thumbsdow @ you trying to slay. I also know Garth Brooks is a musician, that don't mean I listen to that bullshyt.
It's funny though cuz white dudes don't have these same discussions about how "rock is dead" like niqqas do with rap, they embrace new acts and even try to collab, its kind of depressing cuz they actually produce horrible music...whereas a bdk jadakiss wayne on the hook collab would be fukking amazing.

You weren't joking, you were being an insecure girl. Don't act like you know anything about rock music either. Congratulations! You name-dropped Pearl Jam and Sublime, two bands that absolutely everybody in the world knows about.
Rock fans don't have those discussions because there's no such thing as a 'real' rock fan. Just like Hip-Hop, rock fans are divided by category and a lot of them don't even consider the others to be 'rock' music. To that end they generally don't decry a band like Creed as the 'end' of Rock. Rock music is also universal while Hip-Hop is pretty much confined to America - Hip-Hop is popular worldwide but the majority of acts come from the one place, while Rock musicians can be big whether they're from the US, Britain/the UK, Continental Europe or even Australia. There's more variety to Rock.

If knowing the names of the bands doesn't mean you listen to 'em why didn't you just put the names instead of trying to make a terrible joke?

I don't know if I'd go that far. Nas is a respected hip-hop artist where Marilyn Manson is pretty much a clown--and has a spectacle of a persona not seen since, I don't know, KISS?

regardless of the fact...mtv and other media outlets were having discussions on is rock really dead or not just like the hip hop is dead ****
instead of insecure southern rappers feeling disrespected when nas said it, most rock artists agreed with manson when he said it.
nas is respected and my favorite rapper, but that really has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Look at you go! I didn't "name drop" you fukking saltine. I said those 2 bands are "IT" to 20something white dudes, those two bands specifically. (I could have said "grunge" or "alternative" or whatever other name they're using for that genre of mushmouth bullshyt, but i got specific)...Everything else they listen to sounds just like it but the bands have different names.
but thats not my point, my point is that the shyt fukking SUCKS.
dude asked me what white people listen to, and from my observation of white people up and down the east coast, at work, on college campuses, etc. Using my research and information of the white people species I came to my conclusion. Which is, 20something white dudes listen to shytty alternative music. Then you had come jump on your mac and get all upset and try to slay me. Why so defensive?

The point I was making is that rock music is far bigger than Marilyn Manson. You may say he's one of the biggest rock acts of the past decade (the 90's, but we'll say this for arguments sake) but Limp Bizkit were bigger between 1996 and 2001. Creed and Nickelback are bigger. Blur were bigger in the UK. Oasis were enormous in the UK and are still incredibly popular. You can name any number of bands in the same time period who were as big or bigger than Marilyn Manson, who weren't at all affected by his song. MTV with it's bullsh!t bias towards what white teenage Americans listen to might have had a discussion about it but the world at large wasn't too fussed.
No big deal to me...just saying. It's funny how someone could get emotional over something so shaky though...
No really, what's your point? Nobody who posts here listens to any of that garbage.

Watching Beerfest & American Pie =/= research
Find out what people actually listen to before you go into a topic with gay jokes and stupid 'observations'.

fwiw... I thought dude was joking--like making fun of the bands' names--not pretending that he didn't know the names.

I was too lazy to call him out initially on how incredibly stupid his post was, I realize he was joking
But that's not really the point of the thread, if it even has a point. People listen to a whole bunch of different sh!t. It's fun to generalize and everything but those generalizations rarely have footing in reality.
