So, some/many/all/none of you know that I've got a classic car that is always in some state of repair...I've owned it now for 15 years...My goal is to have it done & driving by the end of the summer this year. This is the perfect place for updates when things start happening.

Here are the most recent pics I have of it, though these are pretty old.

Currently it's in the shop (actually it's been there for a LONG time) getting a 455 big block engine. After that, it's on to paint/body & then to the interior shop for a new top (f'ing thieves!!).

After the engine is done (hopefully within 2 months), I'll take new pics & update. Maybe a thread like this will help push me to get it done as I've wanted to get it completed every year...this time, I'm more serious than ever though.

Oh yeah...it's a 1972 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale Convertible.

How much you shell out for your Engine?

Thanks Tek...it's my baby...

It came with a 350 rocket engine which I had bored out & rebuilt, but I wanted more power, so I copped a 455. It's been in the shop getting that done forever, but money/time/family have all gotten in the way at various points. So now I'm focused in getting it back to drive & enjoy.

It also had black interior, but we don't ride em like that out here in the Bay...so I had to go with the coke white guts in it...and it has a cherry wood grain wheel now too...

It's my baby...sh*t, I had this before I had kids!!!

Honestly, I don't know. The garage where it's at is a friend of mine & we've traded different things for some parts/work & I've paid along the way for a lot of it...

If I had to guess, I'd put it in the $4-5k range...but that's for new EVERYTHING... bored/milled heads, rods/pistons, Edelbrock aluminum intake, etc...the only thing that will be used on the engine is the block...

So...

Looking on eBay today, i found this seller:
http://motors.search.ebay.com/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrppZ25QQsassZconvertibleQ2dspecialists

They have literally everything to rebuild the convertible top for my car...my top is functioning, but given it's age, a rebuild would be in order. I'm about to drops some $$ to rebuild the complete top. That plus a new top (exterior) will be perfect once I'm rolling.

Very cool...I'm excited.
